Buying signals, explained

What is a B2B buying signal?

A public, observable event suggesting a company or person is entering a buying window: a funding round, a hiring surge, a new executive, a job change, or someone engaging with relevant topics on LinkedIn. Signals answer the question cold lists can't: why contact them now?

How fresh are Hilead's signals?

Refresh cadence depends on the source: fast-moving engagement and job-board sources are checked daily by default, while slower-moving sources such as funding, technology and broader hiring data may be revisited less often. Every signal shows its age, and intent points decay with time until stale events stop contributing.

Where do the signals come from?

Public, verifiable sources: LinkedIn activity, company job boards, official SEC filings, company websites, Product Hunt, and news coverage. Two AI judges filter the ambiguous cases, one keeps vendors out of your engagement leads, one verifies press is really about the company.

How do signals affect lead scoring?

Every lead gets a 0-100 score combining fit (how well they match your ICP) and intent (how recently they showed a signal, with time decay). Hover any score in Hilead to see exactly which signals contributed and why.
